Albert Chislett

Mining Industry NL members are saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Albert Chislett. On behalf of his colleagues throughout the Newfoundland and Labrador exploration and mining community, we extend our sincere condolences to his family and many friends.
Albert was tenacious and singularly focused in his belief that Newfoundland and Labrador’s mineral potential was world class in scale and scope. He was driven to prove it. As the co-discoverer of the Voisey’s Bay deposit, he found the success he sought and our industry and the people of the province benefit today from his life’s work. Albert embodied the true spirit of our industry. He was an unshakable optimist and strong advocate for prospecting, and a person who was willing to take the risks and undergo the hard work to secure the rewards. He will be greatly missed.
