Mining Industry NL Extends Congratulations to Brian Dalton and Altius Minerals

Mining Industry NL is pleased to congratulate Altius Minerals on receiving an Atlantic Business Magazine Top 50 CEO recognition. Mr. Brian Dalton, CEO of Altius Minerals (TSX: ALS) was named to the Top 50 CEO list for 2016 at The Gala Award Ceremony held earlier this month in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Mr. Dalton credits the Altius Minerals team for his achievement. “I see this purely as a testament to the quality and dedication of the team I work with; belief in the team is most important to me,” says Mr. Dalton.

Under Mr. Dalton’s leadership, success for Altius Minerals in mining has meant championing the efforts of your people and recognizing them as the company’s greatest asset. According to the CEO, “90 per cent of my job is steering and encouraging the team to use their individual and collective skills to act as contrarians in this wonderfully cyclical sector.”

In its 19 years in the mining industry, Altius Minerals has witnessed two industry downturns and one upturn. Such changes can test a company’s character and perseverance so “when I reflect on how much positive groundwork we've been able to lay during the 2012 to 2016 downturn it's hard not to get excited!” says Mr. Dalton. “Companies and teams in this business are defined and made from the tough times.”
