Why be a member? These three pillars represent what we do on behalf of our membership

Advocacy

As the principal voice of the industry we advise and assist governments of all levels in implementing a competitive legislative and regulatory environment in which the industry can grow and prosper. We maintain close relations with national mineral industry associations and act with them on matters of common interest and are a constituent association of the province’s Business Coalition. We are supported in our policy development by standing and ad-hoc committees whose members are drawn from experts in their fields.

All members are invited to provide their opinions on policy and other matters to the board and staff of the association.

Business Attraction

We showcase the industry’s potential at major national and international mineral industry events, such as Roundup in Vancouver and the PDAC’s International Convention, Trade Show and Investors Exchange in Toronto, and more. We also support the Matty Mitchell Prospectors Resource Room, a joint a venture between Mining Industry NL and the Department of Natural Resources. Annual events like our Resource Investors Forum allow our publically traded companies to garner the interest of influential mining analysts, financiers and investors from all over North America and beyond It is a showcase for the province, its exploration and development projects, our companies and skilled workforce.

Communications

We are our industry’s principal point of contact for media in the province and are frequently asked to provide an industry perspective on various issues. Routinely we are called upon by economic development, business and professional groups to inform them about general or specific industry topics. Through the delivery of comprehensive presentations to industry and media, we increase the public’s understanding of mining and its positive contribution to our society.
